Live, from New York, it’s Cheeseburger Saturday Night! Starring Burger Burger (from a suggestion by Eric Fusco) and featuring the Ready For Prime Beef Player, Marty Wombacher. Ladies and Gentlemen, all the way in the Financial District, please welcome Burger Burger!
Okay, here we are up from the subway in the heart of the Financial District. Now I need to find Pearl Street.
And through the miracle of this thing called the internet, you're spared a half an hour of walking around lost and in circles and asking people for directions before eventually coming upon...Pearl Street! Now we're off to find Burger Burger.
And whoomp, here it is!
Here's the special of the day, a summer burger.
You place your order up at the cash register inside.
And here's the man taking the order behind the counter, Jeff.
As you can see, they're doing a brisk business tonight. Lots of burgers on the grill.
There's a counter area inside where you can sit and eat your meal, but it's a little warm in here tonight...
So I think I'll sit outside.
Here's a little tip for those of you who want to enjoy a beer with your burger. Burger Burger doesn't serve beer, but if you sit in the Dubliner section of the outside seating area in the alley way, you can get a beer from one of their hostesses.
Here's the table I chose.
Gumby's all settled in.
And here's lovely Lanetta from the Dubliner with an ice cold beer! You should note that the other restaurants in the area won't let you sit in their sections and eat food from Burger Burger, so tip your Dubliner server well at the end of the evening!
Here's a view of the whole alley of outdoor seating. It's really nice here and a great people watching spot.
But some people can't stop staring at computer screens.
And here's Jeff with tonight's cheeseburger dinner. Door to door service, nice!
The burger and onion rings look great!
The Bill Burger is a little messy to eat, but it's delicious!
And as the sun sets on the Financial District, I set off to try and find the subway back home. Goodnight everybody and see you tomorrow after dark!
My MealI got the Bill Burger which is a six ounce burger topped with American cheese, sauteed onions, and horseradish cream sauce. It comes on an English muffin (you can get all their burgers on an English muffin) and it was delicious. It comes with your choice of French fries or mixed greens, but I got the onion rings instead. The onion rings were a pleasant surprise. I ordered them extra well done and that’s the way they came and they were the crispiest and tastiest onion rings I think I’ve ever had.
In addtition to the Bill Burger, there’s 15 varieties of burgers available at Burger Burger including: a Chili Cheeseburger, Pizza Burger, Bison Burger and The New Yorker which is, Swiss cheese, sauteed mushrooms, onions and sour cream. They also have six kinds of Nathan’s Famous Hotdogs on the menu and chicken sandwiches—regular and Cajun. Sides include Chicken Tenders, five varieties of fries, jalapeño poppers and mozzarella sticks. They offer seven kinds of homemade milk shakes including: caramel, Neapolitan, Oreo and Reese’s Peanut Butter.
Thanks to Eric Fusco for the suggestion and for the wise-ass Google directions.
