Live, from New York, it’s Cheeseburger Saturday Night! Starring Burger Burger (from a suggestion by Eric Fusco) and featuring the Ready For Prime Beef Player, Marty Wombacher. Ladies and Gentlemen, all the way in the Financial District, please welcome Burger Burger!
Okay, here we are up from the subway in the heart of the Financial District. Now I need to find Pearl Street.
And through the miracle of this thing called the internet, you're spared a half an hour of walking around lost and in circles and asking people for directions before eventually coming upon...Pearl Street! Now we're off to find Burger Burger.
And whoomp, here it is!
Here's the special of the day, a summer burger.
You place your order up at the cash register inside.
And here's the man taking the order behind the counter, Jeff.
As you can see, they're doing a brisk business tonight. Lots of burgers on the grill.
There's a counter area inside where you can sit and eat your meal, but it's a little warm in here tonight...
So I think I'll sit outside.
Here's a little tip for those of you who want to enjoy a beer with your burger. Burger Burger doesn't serve beer, but if you sit in the Dubliner section of the outside seating area in the alley way, you can get a beer from one of their hostesses.
Here's the table I chose.
Gumby's all settled in.
And here's lovely Lanetta from the Dubliner with an ice cold beer! You should note that the other restaurants in the area won't let you sit in their sections and eat food from Burger Burger, so tip your Dubliner server well at the end of the evening!
Here's a view of the whole alley of outdoor seating. It's really nice here and a great people watching spot.
But some people can't stop staring at computer screens.
And here's Jeff with tonight's cheeseburger dinner. Door to door service, nice!
The burger and onion rings look great!
The Bill Burger is a little messy to eat, but it's delicious!
And as the sun sets on the Financial District, I set off to try and find the subway back home. Goodnight everybody and see you tomorrow after dark!
My MealI got the Bill Burger which is a six ounce burger topped with American cheese, sauteed onions, and horseradish cream sauce. It comes on an English muffin (you can get all their burgers on an English muffin) and it was delicious. It comes with your choice of French fries or mixed greens, but I got the onion rings instead. The onion rings were a pleasant surprise. I ordered them extra well done and that’s the way they came and they were the crispiest and tastiest onion rings I think I’ve ever had.
In addtition to the Bill Burger, there’s 15 varieties of burgers available at Burger Burger including: a Chili Cheeseburger, Pizza Burger, Bison Burger and The New Yorker which is, Swiss cheese, sauteed mushrooms, onions and sour cream. They also have six kinds of Nathan’s Famous Hotdogs on the menu and chicken sandwiches—regular and Cajun. Sides include Chicken Tenders, five varieties of fries, jalapeño poppers and mozzarella sticks. They offer seven kinds of homemade milk shakes including: caramel, Neapolitan, Oreo and Reese’s Peanut Butter.
Thanks to Eric Fusco for the suggestion and for the wise-ass Google directions.
Cheeseburger RatingThree Wimpys, an excellent burger.

I was just reading this book yesterday about this alternative healing method and this isn't what it's about, but it mentions that they have verified that people's who magnetic center (there is a name I can't remember) is off, get lost a lot. So you might need some magnetic therapy Marty. It's not your fault. That's cool that the bar and restaurant are willing to support each other in that way. Nice that some people can see the benefit. Burger looked wonderful. LOVE Lindsay's photo.
I think Lindsay got the quintessential Chillmaster party shot there! Her photographs are really great.
That's the way I like my onion rings also,,,,crispy and the breading tight, right on the onion and not soggy. You notice these burger joints popping up all over the country now,,, my all time favorite though, is the In N Out hamburgers out on the west coast. It's usually my first stop right out of the airport. They have an almost religious approach, nothing frozen, ever,,,,french fries hand cut and made only when you order, not before. This place you went to looks very good, a thick patty and red onions,,,,BTW, whats up with the english muffin instead of a bun kick you've been on lately? A healthier approach perhaps,,,,reminds me of that song,,,"in the daytime I'm Mr Natural just as healthy as I can be" remember that?
Your first photo of Jeff behind the counter had a familiar look to it...then I remembered...Kevin Spacey handing Anette Benning and her lover their smiley burgers at the drive through window and asking them if they wanted smiley sauce with that in the movie 'American Beauty'. Jeff has almost that exact same grin and even looks a little like Kevin Spacey.
"...and YOU don't get to tell ME what to do ANY MORE!' - Keven Spacey, American Beauty.
"...ooooh...you guys are SOOOOO busted..." Keven Spacey's boss, American Beauty.
Burger, Burger-Bon,Bon
They also have free delivery. Although you would've missed out on the Dubliner,
you could've called and have them bring food to the intersection of Lost and Lazy.
Look kids.
Rantless and Pantless today.
@kari: I'll definitely look into magnetic therapy, but I'll probably get lost on the way there!
@onemorefoldedsunset: I agree about Lindsay's photos! I think she captured the ultimate Chillmaster portrait here.
@Al: I've never had an In N Out burger and have always been curious as to why they've never come over here to the East Coast. I've always preferred an English muffin, but most places don't offer it. I don't know the Mr. Natural song, who did it?
@Jaws: I see the resemblance too! Great movie!
@csp: "Rantless and Pantless today." That is the definition of T.M.I!
Party! You need to get into advertising! You are always making me hungry! You're much better than Barry (You desrve a break today) Manilow! I need to go fix lunch.
@MAD,,,,,that song is "Junk food Junkie" by Larry Groce,,,look it up its has some funny lyrics
@Danny Maness: "You're much better than Barry (You desrve a break today) Manilow!" Mandy told me the same thing!
@Al: Thanks! Just listened to it, funny stuff!
I am drooling over that burger. Especially the horseradish cream sauce!
@Meleah: That horseradish sauce was the icing on the burger!
@MAD ... you really need a smart phone ... then use the navigation thingy to not get lost. Remember how I expertly led you from your apartment - to Amity Hall - and you didn't know where I was going ?
another nice lookin' meal...great you were able to get a beer to go w/ it....'cause what's a 'burger w/o a beer?...
let's see...MAD goes out for a cheeseburger and the comments run from the quintessential photo to some obscure song lyrics (thanks al...never caught that one...a real gem) to a great moive w/quotes back to the topic...horseradish sauce...then get a fuckin' smart phone...personally where is the closest beer, craft beer, tap beer "there's an app for that"...would be my only use...'cause "gettin'lost" sometimes has it's bonuses...i met a girl...ah another time for that one...

Oh, Mandy, You came...
Smart phones rule !
@GENE: I'm not smart enough for a smarty phone.
@rr: Getting lost does indeed have bonuses! Nice observation and a great quote!
@Danny Maness: It's not polite to kiss and tell!
Smart-phones have a funny way of getting lost themselves. So do smart wallets, smart watches, smart purses, etc.
csp...like that one that guided that dude into an on-comin' train..."there's an app for that"...

Nor have I gone 'App Shit' on it .
Lindsay, I love your work.
Great stuff!
Great post Daddio!
You captured the evening's essence well.
And the usual smorgasbord of comments.
@"Boris:" "Nor have I gone 'App Shit' on it ." Ha ha ha! Good one, Daddio!
I need another cheeseburger fix--Cali burger--swiss-bacon-l&t and russian dressing. This is my fave.
Your cheese burger looks yummy.
Love Lindsay's photo too.
@Melanie: That sounds like a good burger! And yes, a great shot of the Chillmaster and I by Lindsay!
Thanks you guys, I really appreciate it!! Hard to take a bad photo of two characters like Marty and Chillmaster! haha!
Looks so yummy!! You should try the bison burger next time! Haven't had one at that location but in general, they're great!!
@Lindsay: I've never had a bison burger, will have to try one, one of these weeks! Thanks again for the great photo!
