Thanks to everyone for leaving nice comments and again, I apologize for missing a day. I’ve got a few things going on in my personal life (yes, I do have one of those!) and it’s fucking around with me a little bit. It’s nothing life-changing, but I don’t want to blog about it and hopefully everything will work out. I appreciate all the nice comments yesterday, it really helped.
Today I’m going to put up the photos of going to PKNY last Sunday night. I was going to go every Sunday and drink my way through the menu, but now I think I’ll go more like once a month, otherwise it’s going to be the same post every week and I think it would get old. But I went Sunday and had a good time and below is the proof!
Due to the summertime, it's still light outside even though it's almost eight o'clock at night.
But inside PKNY it always feels like midnight. It's dark inside and no windows, a true oasis where you can relax and let your troubles float away.
And there's Val down at the end of the bar.
And here's Kigan, Val's bar back for the night. It's time to start the tiki drinks.
Val suggested a strong drink first, so I ordered up the cobra and he and Kigan went into action. Like I said last week, it's like performance art watching these two make a tiki cocktail. Sit back and enjoy the show as they go into action!
And here's the finished product! Nice work by Val and Kigan!
Fred was seated next to me at the bar, he own his own business, Quality Plus Cleaning. If you'd like to talk to him about his cleaning services his phone number is: 914-486-1056.
Areeb and Nikki were enjoying drinks on my left hand side and Val took a shot of them.
And Val serves up drink number two, the Miami Vice. Three words: Philip Michael Thomas.
A shot of Nikki enjoying one of the massive drinks in here.
These people were enjoying themselves in the back and really got into the mood by keeping their sunglasses on!
Val gave me one last drink on the house, but I forgot what to ask what it was. But it was delicious!
And one parting shot with Areeb and Nikki and it was time to call it a night. Goodnight everybody and we'll see you tomorrow after dark.

Here in Seattle at this time of year, it stays light out until 10 or 10:30 - there's nothing like entering a dark, midnight-like bar at 6pm, and walking out at 8, and it's still all bright and daylight out!
Your last mystery drink looked very interesting...and refreshing, and from that story I sent you some time back, you know who else would like a drink like that..."This is my beloved drink...in which I am well pleased...". You know, I almost expected to see Hawkeye Pierce and Trapper John sitting off in a corner of that bar, dressed in full island regalia and plotting their latest outrage against Major Burns....
The only better hedonistic "To Do" list was compiled by Charlie Sheen while he was watching porn. I think this list is better; it's unlikely those tasty beverages will steal your watch and hide in the closet. To la vida borrachos.
Ooops. I predict that was the Maharishi's last comment.
Val is seriously intense when making these drinks ! .... and it looks like he's squirting mustard into your Cobra ?
@Isablella: I didn't know it stayed light that late there! It would make doing my MAD blog a little tough! I think I got spammed at your http://isabellaorgan.com blog, could you check it out?
@Jaws: Ha! There is a M*A*S*H like vibe in there!
@Maharishi: To Mia Farrow's little sister!
@csp: Only time will tell!
@GENE: Val really gets into it and it's fun watching him make the drinks. That was some sort of orange juice he was putting in there I think.
Hang in there Brother. If you need anything, you know where to find me.
If I ever "come out of retirement" I would join you on the "Menu Crawl" but I don't plan to.
It looks like "Swizzle Stick-O-Rama" there so your journey could also lead to building that collection!
Sunglasses should be Mandatory.
Don't ever worry about taking a day off! I don't know how you do this every night, but love the fact that you do. Great shots of Val making the drink! And the Don Tiki video was perfect!
@MAD: Touché. Sometimes it's Prudent to take a day off.
I agree with Jaws,,,that last drink with shredded coconut on top looks great,,,,Did you notice those six little bottles behind Val when he was making your drink with "High Rum"? The Don Tiki video makes me want to jump on the next flight to Tahiti.
@"Boris:" Thanks Brother, you've already helped out plenty and I appreciate it! I'll try and call you tonight.
@Barfly: Thanks, some things just got caught up with me, I'm back now though!
@csp: Ha! Glad you got the Mia reference, great linkage!
@Al: I did not notice them till now! And if there's an extra seat on that Tahiti flight, please save it for me!
@jaws-I had the same Mash thought. :)
Hope everything gets back to normal soon Marty-my GIANT frozen margarita/sangria drink from last night would have fit in well in the Tikki bar menu.
I'm really going to have to step it up from my patented "Iced Beer" if I'm going to make it in the world of mixology.
Is Megan Wiig, wine ambassador and writer, the sister of Kristen Wiig, hilarity ambassador and wit?
Although I will never like beer, I think I could find some things I would enjoy there, especially the last one, so of course that's the one you wouldn't know the name of :)
And why thank you for the suggestion, I do think I would like living in Wales.
I miss those light out till 10 seattle nights!
Marty you can go every week and post about it once a month still. its your life do what you want!!!!
and kigan can bar my back anytime.. whooo... ok need a drink to cool down..
@Britta: Thanks, things have settled down somewhat. Sounds like you're having fun on your vacation!
@Biff: I looked online and couldn't find any evidence to support the Kirsten/megan connection, but will continue to research it!
@kari: I think you'd like the drinks at PKNY. Say hi to Tom Jones when you get to Wales!
@Gidgie: "and kigan can bar my back anytime" Ha ha ha! I'll let him know about that job opportunity!
MAD...i for one do not need an explanation/apology for "missing" a post...hell i've been known to go right to the phone and book off (for no particular reason at all) right after my feet hit the floor...end semi rant...
those concoctions do look great...not sure but i think they would fail as a "great" drink w/ my "rotgut" standards...
I am for those who believe in loose delights, I share the midnight orgies of young men, I dance with the dancers and drink with the drinkers.

forgot to say yesterday kudos to GENE for the shots of those "machines" that some people actually made a livin' maintainin'...
@rr: I know you don't need an apology, but I wanted to throw it out there anyway. Great WW quote!
Tikki tikki tembo-no sa rembo-chari bari ruchi-pip peri pembo has fallen into the well!
Marty, I’m guessing your swizzle stick collection just got bigger?
Speaking of getting bigger: I wonder; how many
leislays Ricky Nelson got during the Hawaiian shoot? I’m guessing more that the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi got in Rishikesh.“But it's all right now, I learned my lesson well.
You see, ya can't please everyone, so ya got to please yourself
“People came from miles around, everyone was there
Yoko brought her walrus, there was magic in the air
'n' over in the corner, much to my surprise
Mr. Hughes hid in Dylan's shoes wearing his disguise”
- Ricky Nelson
“The wind is low the birds will sing…..That you are part of everything”
- Yoko’s Walrus
@Chang: Nice riki-tiki talky!
@Harry: It has indeed! Great lyrics, my friend!
