It’s Monday and that means it’s the night where I go out and shoot a sixpack of photos and then match them up with a song that I think reflects the photo. I’ve been here at work for close to 12 hours, so I’m just going to wander around my work neighborhood for the photos.
It's really a nice night out. The perfect temperature and it's kind of quiet out around here. Time to start snapping.
I ain`t with the 100 crowd, I`m with the 99.
No, no, no, no I don't smoke it no more, I'm tired of waking up on the floor.
All you zombies hide your faces, all you people in the street.
Tell me, tell me, tell me the answer, you may be a lover but you ain't no dancer.

Bonus Photo By Tom!
After seeing my hot chili pepper photo from Sunday's visit to Sammy's Noodle Shop, EV Grieve and MAD reader Tom sent in this photo of a bowl of nuclear-looking red hot chili pepper soup he had in China. Below the photo and his explanation of what happened. Thanks, Tom!
I loved your post today about Sammy's, especially the part about the Sour Chili Pepper Soup. Seeing this, I'd thought you might appreciate a picture of a Chili Pepper Offal and Noodle Soup I unwittingly got four years ago in Nanjing, China. As I think you can see from the picture, "very spicy!" would understate how unbelievably hot this soup was. Four years later, I'm still recovering. ;)

@MAD: Oh jukebox without a coin slot, check your mail.
'Breathless Homicidal Slime Mutants'...hmmm...I've had a few of those in my cab from time to time, usually on Friday and Saturday nights just after the bars close down. I wrote about a few of them in my book; 'Two Fisted Cab Driving Tales' as you may remember, Marty.
A very good six pack again. May I add a little footnote to the Beach Boys "Smile". 5 CD set is coming out next year of the original "Smile" recordings, to coincide with 50 years of Beach Boys. They want to do a huge reunion tour with Brian,,,he initially said yes,,,then he said "I really don't like playing with those guys" then he added "it really depends on how much money, money wasn't everything for us but it's a big part of our life". Way to go Brian,,,refreshing to hear the truth.
@csp: Nice catch, I fixed it!
@Jaws: I do remember and others can read about it and buy Jaws' book here: Two Fisted Cab Driving Tales by Jaws.
@Al: I can't wait for that Smile boxed set to come out. If they would've put that out in the '60's, it would've really changed the course of the band's career. And I hope Brian Wilson doesn't go out with Mike Love, it's not the Beach Boys without Dennis and Carl Wilson.
Oh my ! ... that Chinese soup is making me sweat ... I could only imagine what that tasted like ?
Oh, thanks, but I prefer my pizza to be courteous.
Oh snap, that Sour Chili Pepper Soup looks REALLY dangerous. No wonder why it's taken 4 years to recover from eating that!
@GENE: And he ate the entire bowl, I asked him in an email! UFB!
@Biff: Ha ha ha! That went over my head at first!
@meleah: I can only imagine how it felt coming out the next day!
Someone has to say it, might as well be me. Tom, that soup looks offal. (Next time use your noodle and get the wonton.)
MAD's musical associations are not only intriguing but sumwhat mystical...may this concept continue on!...Tom's bonus photo did look hot hot hot but appetizing (would pay the price—in all ways)...
It is not a mystical thing, however, it is obvious and practical and I think that what the performer does is to try to get to that point with every choice you make from the phrasing in a tune to the choice of tunes.

I LOVE THESE PICTURES. And noodle soup? Sighhhhhh!
@csp: Ha ha ha! Better you than me!
@rr: This concept will continue, thanks! I really like doing it. Great quote, forgot all about Leo Kottke, I had a couple of his albums years ago!
@Katherine: Thanks so much and I'd love to try that noodle soup too!
It's Gumby, dammit!
